Where Church Outreach Goes Wrong Sep 20th, 2015 [viewed 3 times] |
Spreading the message of the Kingdom of God is a task for every person who has a leadership in the ministry of the Gospel of Christ. Many churches world over are conducting church outreach with the hope that the message will reach many people so that they can denounce sin and accept Christ. Most times, however, the mission to spread the gospel to the lost sheep fail, and there are bad reasons why this happen. When Jesus rose from the dead, He came back to Galilee and asked His disciples to go into the world and teach people about the message of the Kingdom. It was the hope of Jesus that what He had taught the disciples and the people who were with him would reach out to the people He had not reached, especially the generation that would come after his days on earth. He promised that He would be with believers until the end of the age. The mission to bring the lost to God started immediately after Jesus went to heaven and sent the Holy Spirit, who would guide every person who preaches and accepts Christ. With time, the number of people who changed from sin and out their trust in God increased. This led to a massive growth of then community of believers. Televisions these days have become a medium of evangelism and every station in the world today allow different preachers from different parts of the world to share the message of Christ. If you want to share the message of Christ with an easy spread therefore, TV preaching would be a good option for your church. And with many people always on the screen, you can be sure that the message preached will reach many people out there. If you are going to use television preaching to reach out to people, booking air time from popular TV stations would be a perfect option. When people turn their screens on, and switch between channels and find inspiring messages best for daily living, church leaders can be sure that the message they are passing across will reach a bigger audience. TV preaching, contrary to what most people think, is not entirely a bad thing really. Preaching the wrong message to an audience is part of the reason why the harvest of souls to the kingdom of God is not big as it used to be. When you judge people because of their sins, just because you are born again, they tend to be more resilient to accepting the message and instead tend to believe in something different. The only way to get people believing in Christ is accepting people for who they have become and then preach the message of a loving God, not a judging creator. Some Christians in some churches are always afraid to take the challenge of spreading the news about Christ to people around them. This means that even if the church leaders calls for people to join hands in spreading the word of Christ to the world, most Christians will tend to shy off. Evangelists need to know they are doing the great work of God, and that nothing they do is in vain, and should continue to preach the Bible in all ways possible including the use of church printings and church banners. Of course, at the appointed time, when all is done and God is the only one with the final say, they will receive their reward. Join hands and spread the gospel of Christ.
